| I actually remember reading a magazine article a while back where they compared intake filters. For instance, the HKS filters that you see on a lot of cars are GREAT for airflow. In fact, they are superior to most filters in air flow. The downside is that they don't filter for crap. They let in all kinds of particles. That is just one example to come to mind. K&N is a good filter. I had one on my last Z and have no regrets however there is no substitute for the JWT w/ venturi base.
